Don’t be put off by the name of this fragrance. This is NOT one of those traditional skanky animalic type of oud scents. This is a sophisticated, well put together scent that contains natural Indian oud oil. Right away you will notice the link between the two if you have smelled both, but while Carlisle has some animalic tones and synth oud blended with tobacco to make it mysterious and masculine, Blessed Baraka seems to go for the throat with the synthetic macrocyclic musks seeking to emulate the sour musky lactones naturally occurring in real animalics, while also contradicting them with a clean barrage of tonka and white florals. This confusing mix of "I'm strong like an ox but gentle like a lamb" makes Blessed Baraka seem incredibly unbalanced and cheap-smelling, as if you were smelling a budget clone of itself rather than the real deal, but that's how it goes with this hit-or-miss luxury-tier perfume brand. But does it live up to its name? Herod: So, I wore Herod a day after wearing Tobacco Vanille (unintentionally) and aside from having tobacco and vanilla as dominant accords, they're not that similar. Herod is softer, the vanilla is more obvious but still well blended. The tobacco note is also softer, I'd say TV has a sharper tobacco note. This is more my speed than TV, even though I think both are great fragrances. Performance is great and I love the drydown. Not interested in buying this in any quantity, but if you like the tobacco/vanilla profile, you'll probably love this!Blessed Baraka is for me a dark fragrance. From the pyramid should not be influenced too much. The notes given are indeed present, whether this is so complete I dare to doubt. Like so many, I also perceive a cherry vibe, in addition to light boozy vibes. Then there are fragrances - like the Blessed Baraka - which are fortunately and unfortunately not rightly in the shadow of the greats, the real "hidden champions". Psychedelic Love is more suited for the mature 20-up crowd and performs great all year (except in the high summer heat and/or humid locations). As it settles the heliotrope creeps in… joined with a hint of sandalwood and vanilla to smooth everything out. Rehab opens up fresh, clean and spicy with a blast of bergamot citrus mixed with lavender and some spicy tobacco. Baraka, from Mortal Kombat. It is pleasant, but not this typical crowdpleaser. This boozy note makes it special & unique, perfect not to smell like every 2nd in the "club". As it progresses it becomes more pleasing, even though there is not quite as much progression in this scent as most Initios. I like it well. As it progresses, the sandalwood note comes out well and convinces with a woody amber-vanilla-musk combo. The basic DNA of the opening but still resonates.
